WATERTABLED
We are all travellers
through the transient beauty
of life’s shimmering desert
caught waterless we struggle
toward mirages
parched, some die, despairing
without hope
face down on the dusty crust
while just below life flows
a river of refreshment
unseen, unreachable
to those who do not know
it can be tapped.
SEA OF TEARS
My sea of tears
storm tossed
sprays anger
then subsides
calm
yet tidal
like thermometer’s
mercury
rising falling rising
surprising me
surging
merging strife with peace
healing
revealing laughter’s waves
of deepest joy
strange
boundless
restless
sea of tears
irrigating
all my years
NECKLACE
Moments
of
joy
like
precious
pearls
small
strong
beautiful
strung
together
knotted
apart
by moments
of sorrow
make
a
necklace
around
the heart
