JONAH AFTER NINEVEH
I've walked my sandals to tatters,
I've talked myself right out of breath
With spreading the Word throughout Nineveh
Foretelling destruction and death.
No wonder I'm feeling exhausted -
Just think about all I've been through
On my one-man mission to Nineveh!
I consider some Rec Leave is due.
So here I am, once more in Joppa,
I've found a ship ready to sail,
I've purchased a ticket to Tarshish -
A first class ticket to Tarshish -
This time I'll make it to Tarshish -
And thumb my nose at the whale!

WATER OF LIFE...
Earth adrift in it
Man made of it
Clouds pregnant with it
Rivers fresh with it
Seas salting it
Life dependant on it
Thirst longing for it
Parched lips pleading for it.
How strange.
He created and separated it
drowned Earth in it
made it subservient
drew it from rocks
parted it by faith
changed it to wine
baptised in it
walked on it
healed with it.
Then said it was not enough
and offered a simple woman
a better kind
to meet her deepest need.

PERSPECTIVES
One sea
a giant fishbowl
One river
an endless journey
One pool
a heavenly mirror
One drink
a priceless lifesaver
One drop
a hundred hidden snowflakes
One snowflake
His unique miracle.
